COPD Seminar

Location: European Parliament Office in Scotland, The Tun, 4 Jackson's Entry, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh

On Friday, November 19th the European Parliament Information Office in Edinburgh will host a seminar on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), organised under the title "COPD - why is it such a silent killer in Scotland?".

Speakers will include:

  • Catherine Stihler, MEP for Scotland
  • Marianella Salapatas, President of the EFA European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients' Associations;
  • Dr James Cant, Head of the British Lung Foundation for Scotland and Northern Ireland

Each speaker will set out their thoughts on this issue for 10-15 minutes, looking particularly at what Scotland can learn from other EU countries and vice versa.  This will be followed by a Q&A session and a general discussion. Following the end of the seminar, the Office will provide an informal buffet lunch for participants.
