"Getting Involved Beyond the Vote" in Durham

Starts: 24/06/2011 - 10:00am
Ends: 24/06/2011 - 5:00pm

Location: Durham Town Hall

Find out more about European politics and the work of MEPs at two free events on Friday 24 June at Durham Town Hall.

Sixth form and college students can attend a Question Time style debate with the North East Region's MEPs between 10am -12 noon.

Questions should be submitted in advance but will only be put to MEPs on the day.

In the afternoon, from 1.30pm to 5pm, presentations will focus on how the European Parliament Information Office in the UK and Houses of Parliament
work to enable more effective engagement in democracy.

From 4pm you can meet an MEP to discuss ways to get your voice heard at a European level. Particularly suitable for voluntary organisations.

Register for either event by emailing europe.direct@durham.gov.uk or calling 0191 383 3448.
