"This House Believes that the EU should allow Turkey to join"

On Friday 4th March, the European Parliament Office in Edinburgh and Strathclyde University Debating Society will host a debate on Turkish membership of the EU in the Debating Chamber at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. The address is: USSA, 90 John Street, Glasgow, G1 1JH

The debate will run from 6.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. on Friday 4 March 2011. A bar will be available from 6pm to 9pm and sandwiches will be provided after the debate, which is free to attend.
The motion will be "This House Believes that the EU should allow Turkey to join".

Speakers will include:
Alyn Smith MEP
Zeynep Ersahin, Second Secretary, Turkish Embassy in London
Sandy Boyle, Member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
Alan Finnie, Conservative candidate for Falkirk West
Professor John Curtace, Strathclyde University.

The event is open to all.
