Funding the EU and EU Funding in Wales

On Friday the 19th of April, the European Parliament's offices in the UK organized an event in Cardiff regarding the EU funding and its effect in Wales called "Funding the EU and EU Funding in Wales". Moderated by the BBC Wales journalist Tomos Livingstone, the first part of the conference had Jane Hutt AM, Jill Evans MEP, Guto Bebb MP and Derek Vaughan MEP discussing what is proposed for the future of the EU Budget, what are the implications of the February European Council for the future funding of the EU, what does it mean for Wales and how can MEPs and MPs shape the future of the EU budget.

Session two, that took place after a break, dealt with the changes propossed in the EU Funding programmes, which issues still need resolution, what are the lessons to be learned of previous funding programs and how the priorities for Wales can be pursued. In this second part of the event the speakers were Guy Flament (European Commission, DG Regio), Rona Michie (EPRC, University of Strathclyde), Dr Adrian Healy (Cardiff University) and Hywel Ceri Jones (Former European Commission Director- General).

The presentations of some of the speakers as well as some other documents from the event can be found below.
