The Fourth Joint Parliamentary Meeting on the Lisbon Strategy, co-organized by the European Parliament and the Slovenian National Assembly took place in Brussels on 11 and 12 February 2008. As in the three previous editions, this Joint Parliamentary Meeting congregated Members of the National Parliaments and the European Parliament to discuss on different topics related to the Lisbon Strategy before the Spring European Council takes place. The main topics on discussion in the Working Groups of this JPM were the following: Internal Market and Strategies-Research and Development: Responses to Globalisation; Investment in People and Labour Market, and Measuring Progress and Monitoring Lisbon.

The Joint Parliamentary Meeting was co-chaired by the President of the Slovenian National Assembly, Mr. France Cukjati, and the Vice-president of the European Parliament, Ms. Rodi Kratsa-Tsagarapoulou, on behalf of the EP President.
