Interparliamentary meetings organised by the European Parliament

Many committees of the European Parliament organise meetings with national Parliaments on concrete issues or specific draft EU legislation, for instance on the reform of the EU's agricultural policy or the gender pay gap. Meetings which are organised under the sole responsibility of the European Parliament and its committees are referred to as Interparliamentary Committee Meetings.

Interparliamentary Committee Meetings are the standard type of meeting organised by the European Parliament at committee level. However, every committee has the possibility to decide on the degree of cooperation with, and involvement of, national parliaments in the preparation of these meetings.

In addition, the EP committees may invite their counterparts from national Parliaments to workshops, hearings or debates during one of their regular committee meetings.

All of these meetings are organised by the secretariat of the competent EP committee with the support of the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments.
