The future of the EU, COSAC and interparliamentary relations in the spotlight

The XLIII COSAC meeting will mainly focus on:

1. The new powers of national Parliaments and the future role of COSAC following the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty. These issues are at the centre of the 13th COSAC bi-annual report which will be presented in Madrid.

2. The conclusions of the Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of the European Union (Stockholm, 14-15 May).

3. The future role of the EU on which Felipe Gonzalez, former Spanish Prime Minister and Chairman of the homonymous Reflection Group, will make a speech.

4. The new model for interparliamentary relations in the post-Lisbon Treaty era.
