Relations with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) fall under the remit of the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments. A new inter-parliamentary dialogue with EU neighbouring countries, in particular with Western Balkan parliaments, was launched in the first half of 2006, also under the auspices of our Directorate.

Administrative cooperation, including training courses for the secretariats of national parliaments of candidate countries, is also the responsibility of the Directorate, working in close cooperation with DG External Policies of the European Parliament.
