The European Parliament and the Belgian Parliament organised a JPM entitled "Beyond the crisis: How should Europe respond to the challenges ahead?". It took place in the European Parliament in Brussels on 8 and 9 November 2010. The meeting was co-chaired by Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, André Flahaut, President of the House of Representatives of Belgium, and Danny Pieters, President of the Senate of Belgium.
On the first day of the meeting, members of the European Parliament and the national Parliaments were split into three Working Groups (WG) dealing respectively with "growth and jobs for the Europe of tomorrow", "the European economic governance", and the ways "to complete Europe's single market".
On the second day, the three WG presented their reports in plenary session. Representatives of the Presidency of the Council and the Commission then made a statement followed by a debate with the European and national parliamentarians.
