Joint Parliamentary Meeting on the Western Balkans - Achieving the European perspective for South East Europe
At the initiative of the European Parliament and the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, a Joint Parliamentary Meeting on the Western Balkans was held in the European Parliament in Brussels on the 26 and 27 May 2008. This JPM was cochaired, as usual in this type of inter-parliamentary meetings, by the EP President, Mr. Hans-Gert Pöttering, and by the President of the Slovenian National Assembly, Mr France Cukjati.
The programme of the JPM included, among others, the following topics: Presentation of the Slovenian EU Council Presidency; The European Commission's strategy towards the Western Balkans; Presentations by the National Parliaments of the Western Balkans countries and The Regional Cooperation in South Eastern Europe.
