EU Budget for 2014-2020 at the heart of the meeting

On 3 October the EU and national parliamentarians will focus on the multiannual financial framework for the period 2014-2020: first with a debate from the EU Budget prerspective (speakers: Mr Janusz Lewandowski, EU Commissioner for Budget and Financial Programming, and Mr Salvador Garriga Polledo, member of the EP special committee on this issue); and then with a discussion from the cohesion policy perspective (speaker: Elzbieta Bienkowska, Polish Minister for Regional Development).

On 4 October the participants of the meeting will discuss with the Polish Prime Minister, Mr Donald Tusk, the state of play of the Polish EU Presidency. They will also debate with the EC Vice-President, Maros Sefcovic, the changes brought about by the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty. Finally, they will adopt the contributions and conclusions of the XLVI COSAC.

The EP delegation is lead jointly by Vice-President Miguel Angel MARTÍNEZ MARTÍNEZ (S&D, ES) and Chair of the Constitutional Affairs Committee Carlo Casini (EPP, IT). Other members of the delegation are Danuta Maria HÜBNER (EPP, PL), Paulo RANGEL (EPP, PT), Jutta HAUG (S&D, DE), and Silvana KOCH-MEHRIN (ALDE, DE).
