In the framework of the parliamentary dimension of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) of the European Parliament and the Committee on Economics of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania are organising a Joint Committee Meeting on The EU Internal Energy Market for the 21st Century with the participation of Members from National Parliaments. The event will take place on Tuesday, 17 December 2013, from 10.15 - 17.30, in the premises of the European Parliament.
The meeting will offer Members from the relevant Committees of national Parliaments the possibility to express their views on the crucial elements of the EU Internal Energy Market and address the following questions: What are the achievements and perspectives of the European energy policy? What are the best ways to make the EU's internal energy market fit for current and future challenges? What are the major steps to ensure that the European energy policy will foster sustainable growth and competitiveness?
