On 21 March, the FEMM Committee together with the Delegation for relations with Afghanistan held a hearing on the conditions of women and girls in Afghanistan. Since the Taliban takeover, Afghan women are facing severe discrimination with immense personal consequences to themselves.
On 21 March, the FEMM Members had an exchange of views with Commissioner Helena Dalli in the framework of the Structured dialogue between Parliament and the Commission.
On 15 March, the Delegation for relations with Iran together with the FEMM Committee held an exchange of views with the 2003 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin EBADI on the situation of women in Iran.
On Wednesday, 1 March 2023, to celebrate International Women’s Day 2022, the FEMM Committee in collaboration with the National Parliaments, organised an Inter-parliamentary Committee meeting “Gender aspects of Energy poverty”.
