The next INTA Committee meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday, 16 May 2022, 13.45 - 15.45 and 16.45 - 18.45 and Tuesday, 17 May 2022, 9.00 - 12.30 and 13.45 - 15.45 and 16.45 - 18.45 in Brussels, SPINELLI 3E2 and remotely.

The meetings will be web-streamed.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.

Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.

In its meeting of 16 and 17 May, the International Trade Committee will vote on the temporary suspension of EU tariffs on Ukranian goods, as well as on a number of legislative and non-legislative files. In addition, Commission Executive-Vice Presidents Vestager and Dombrovskis will debrief Members about EU-US trade and technology cooperation right after an important meeting.

This week, the INTA Committee will vote on its position on the new Generalized Scheme of Tariff Preferences (GSP) Regulation, which will be the basis for the upcoming negotiations with the Council. First, INTA Members will vote in the evening of 2 May on the amendments tabled, followed by a vote on the INTA position as a whole and the entry into inter-institutional negotiations on 3 May.

On 25 April, the INTA Committee will vote on two key legislative files. Namely, the Committee will vote on the draft report on the Foreign Subsidies Regulation that will be the basis for the upcoming inter-institutional negotiations with the Council. INTA will also vote on the provisional agreement regarding the International Procurement Instrument ahead of its final adoption by the EP plenary in the June I part-session.

In its meeting on 20 April, the International Trade Committee will exchange views on the implementation by Bangladesh of the labour rights roadmap aimed at improving the observance of Bangladesh of labour rights such as freedom of association, right to collective bargaining, among others.
