DSA and DMA: main achievements and potential global impact of the DSA - 18 May

On 18 May, IMCO held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the main achievements of the recent provisional agreements on the Digital Markets Act and the Digital Services Act in the presence of Cedric O, Secretary of State for the Digital Transition and Electronic Communications, France and who led negotiations under the French presidency.

IMCO also held an exchange on the Potential global impact of the Digital Services Act on the Digital Single Market, in preparation of the IMCO delegation to Silicon Valley (US) on 23-27 May 2022. IMCO Members had the opportunity to discuss the impact of the new legislation with Ms. Frances Haugen, an expert in algorithmic product management and a former employee of Facebook, in particular as regards mitigation of risks stemming from the use of intermediary services.
