Next FEMM and joint committee meetings - 22, 24 and 25 February 2021

In the context of the exponential growth of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the President of the European Parliament has announced a number of measures to contain the spread of epidemic and to safeguard Parliament's core activities.

The current precautionary measures adopted by the European Parliament to contain the spread of COVID-19 do not affect work on legislative priorities. Core activities are reduced, but maintained to ensure that the institution's legislative, budgetary, scrutiny functions are maintained.

The meetings will be with remote participation for Members (being able to view and listen to proceedings, ask for the floor and intervene in the meeting). Other participants are invited to follow the meeting through web-streaming.

Following these decisions, the next meetings will take place via multilingual remote participation on:

22 February 2021, 15.15-15.45 (JURI-FEMM)
24 February 2021, 10.00-10.30, 13.45-15.15 (LIBE-FEMM) and 16.45-18.00
25 February 2021, 16.45 - 18.45

On 4 February 2021, FEMM Members voted on the draft opinion to the Interim report on the “Council regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 168/2007 establishing a European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA)”. The opinion was adopted by 27 votes in favour, with 6 votes against and 0 abstentions.

On 1 February 2021, FEMM members voted on the proposal for a Council regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 168/2007 establishing a European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) - consent procedure. The opinion was adopted by 28 votes in favour, with 3 votes against and 3 abstentions.

On the 1st of February 2021, FEMM debated the draft opinion on “Shaping the digital future of Europe : removing barriers to the functioning of the digital single market and improving the use of AI for European consumers”.
