The next JURI Committee meetings are scheduled on:

  • 7 December 2020, 11.30-12.30, 13.45-15.45 and 16.45-18.45
  • 8 December 2020, 9.00-9.15 (joint with LIBE)

In the context of the exponential growth of the epidemic, the President of the European Parliament has announced a number of measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities.

The current precautionary measures adopted by the European Parliament to contain the spread of COVID-19 do not affect work on legislative priorities. Core activities are reduced, but maintained to ensure that the institution's legislative, budgetary, scrutiny functions are maintained.

On 7 December 2020, the JURI Committee will vote on the report on Artificial intelligence in the areas of civil and military uses and of state authority outside the scope of criminal justice. The Committee will also vote on the report on Monitoring the application of European Union law 2017, 2018 and 2019 and on opinion on 2019 discharge: General budget of the EU - Court of Justice.

On 16 November 2020, the JURI Members voted on the report on Sustainable corporate governance (2020/2137(INI)) as well as on the draft recommendations for second reading on Collective redress (2018/0089(COD)), on Taking of evidence (2018/0089(COD)) and on Service of documents (2018/0204(COD)). They also voted on petitions by Christoph Klein, on the failure to enforce CJEC judgments and applicable EU law and on alleged discrimination against Union citizens.
