On 10 October 2024, Tony Murphy, President of the European Court of Auditors (ECA), will present the main conclusions of the annual report of the Court concerning financial year 2023 to CONT Members. Commissioner Johannes Hahn, responsible for Budget and Administration, and Jan Gregor, ECA reporting Member, will also be present.

On 10 October 2024, the CONT Committee will hold a discharge hearing with the Commissioner Johannes Hahn, responsible for Budget and Administration. Commissioner Hahn will present the Commission's integrated financial and accountability reporting package for 2023.

On 30 September 2024, Jorg Kristijan Petrovič, Member of the European Court of Auditors, presented to CONT Members the Special Report 07/2024 "The Commission’s systems for recovering irregular EU expenditure".

On 30 September 2024, the Committee on Budgetary Control held an exchange of views with the Secretary-General of the European Parliament, Alessandro Chiocchetti, on the follow-up of the 2022 discharge to the European Parliament on the observations detailed in the resolution of 11 April 2024.

On 5 September 2024, the CONT Committee held exchanges of views with Ville ITÄLÄ, OLAF Director-General, on the OLAF Report 2023, and with Teresa ANJINHO, Chair of the OLAF Supervisory Committee, on the Supervisory Committee Activity Report 2023, and with Julia LAFFRANQUE, the Controller of procedural guarantees, who presented her annual report 2023.

On 4 September 2024, there was an exchange of views with ECA President Tony Murphy and ECA Members Ivana Maletić and Jan Gregor on the work of ECA and the cooperation between CONT committee and European Court of Auditors, with particular focus on the scrutiny of RRF and on the Statement of Assurance audit.
