Von besonderem Interesse
On 25 April, 15.30-17.00, MEPs from the Committee on Development will hold the annual structured dialogue with the EU Commissioner on Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič.
In the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and in particular the devastating humanitarian consequences of the crisis, the Committee on Development has invited the Chair of the Humanitarian Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Mr Mykyta Poturayev, to participate in a debate on this subject on 20 April 2022.
On 4 April, the Committees on Development and on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs discussed the implementation of the temporary protection directive and humanitarian assistance to the displaced Ukrainian population, in particular children, following Russia's aggression – as more than half of all Ukrainian children have been displaced.
The Committee on Development held a hearing on 22 March 2022 to discuss recommendations on how to more effectively address hunger and malnutrition through EU development and humanitarian policies.
