Discussion on labour migration

The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) discussed amendments on labour migration files on 30th November. Members discussed amendments on the recast of the Single Permit and Long-term Residents Directives, on which the EMPL Committee has been working in close cooperation with the LIBE Committee.
The aim of the recast proposals is to improve the integration of immigrants in EU labour markets, while rendering them more attractive and competitive and addressing labour and skills shortages.
