Members of Committee on Employment and Social Affairs committee voted on a motion for resolution on Strengthening social dialogue on the 8th of May, as a reaction to the Commission Communication and proposal for a Council recommendation on reinforcing and promoting social dialogue at EU level. On 26 April the Committee adopted 2 questions for Oral answers to Council and Commission on this topic.

On Wednesday 26 April 2023, the new 1st Vice president of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs was elected. After MEP Marc Angel was elected as Vice-President of the European Parliament in January 2023, and his resignation from his position as first Vice-Chair of the EMPL committee. The S&D political group nominated new candidate Alicia Homs Ginel and during EMPL committee meeting she was elected as 1st Vice-President of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs by acclamation.
