Ensuring effective protection of European consumers in the digital economy
On 21 June 2021, IMCO held a Public Hearing on „Regulations of online platforms and digital service providers in the digital single market: ensuring effective protection of European consumers in the digital economy (DSA/DMA)“.
Representatives from Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google and Twitter, but also from consumer organisations and SMEs are given the opportunity to share their views on the upcoming DMA and DSA proposals. The hearing is structured in two panels: the first panel focuses on the Commission's proposal for a „Digital Markets Act" (DMA) and the second panel on the „Digital Services Act" (DSA), which together aim to establish a modern legal framework that ensures the safety of users and fosters innovation, growth and competitiveness in the digital single market and globally.
