ING2 Special Committee
The day after, the European Parliament created a new Special Committee (ING2) vested with the responsibilities to follow-up on the INGE 1 report. Following a decision from the plenary, the term of office of ING2 will now run until 12 August 2023.
On 14 February 2023, the European Parliament decided to give a new responsibility to the ING2 committee and to rename it. It is henceforth called "Special Committee on foreign interference in all democratic processes in the European Union, including disinformation, and the strengthening of integrity, transparency and accountability in the European Parliament".
The next ordinary meeting of ING2 is scheduled on Thursday 30 March 2023, 14.30 - 16.00 (room: SPINELLI 3G3).
Von besonderem Interesse

On Thursday 30 March 2023, ING2 Members will exchange views on the draft report "Recommendations for reform of the European Parliament’s rules on transparency, integrity, accountability and anti-corruption" by ING2 Co-Rapporteurs Mr Vladimír BILČĺK (EPP) and Ms Nathalie LOISEAU (Renew).

The ING2 Special Committee will start its meeting on Tuesday 21 March 2023 at 9.30 by considering the amendments received to Rapporteur Sandra Kalniete's draft report. From 10.30 to 13.00, the Special Committee will hold an Inter-parliamentary committee meeting (ICM) on legislative resilience, electoral laws or information manipulation campaigns with law makers from Member States that will hold legislative and/or presidential elections in 2023-2024.

On Tuesday 28 February 2023, after the exchange of views on "Setting Global Standards to Protect the Integrity of Information", the ING2 special committee will have a hearing on “Climate change disinformation - International disinformation impact on the EU’s climate goals”.

On Tuesday 28 February 2023 from 14.30 to 16.30, ING2 Members will hold an exchange of views on "Setting Global Standards to Protect the Integrity of Information" together with representatives from the United Nations (UN) and civil society.

Members from the Special Committee on Foreign Interference travelled to Kyiv on 20-21 February to discuss with their Ukrainian counterparts strategies and practices to counter Russian interference. The mission enabled Members to get a better understanding on how the EU institutions could be better equipped to provide the necessary assistance to Ukraine in fighting Russian information manipulation and interference.
