Vote on the IMCO Draft Report on the General Product Safety Regulation

At its meeting of 15 - 16 June 2022, IMCO adopted the compromise amendments and draft report on the proposal for a Regulation on general product safety, which seeks to protect consumers while ensuring a level playing field for businesses.
The Rapporteur, Ms. Dita Charanzová (RENEW) drafted a set of compromise amendments with the aim of establishing a future-proof legislation and further enhancing the safety of products circulating in the Union. This will be achieved by adopting clear rules on economic operators' tasks, making the market surveillance system more effective, and by addressing new challenges linked to new technologies.
