Debate with Commissioner Reynders, Swedish Presidency and vote on GIs
On 27 February 2023, the JURI Committee will hold an exchange of views with the Commission as the follow-up to the INL on "A statute for European cross-border associations and non-profit organisations" in the context of 2022 Annual Report on the Application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, in particular on the role of civil society organisations and rights defenders (COM(2022)0716). The Committee will further hold an exchange of views on Protecting persons
who engage in public participation from manifestly unfounded or abusive court proceedings ("Strategic lawsuits against public participation") (2022/0117(COD)).
On 28 February, the JURI Members will hold an exchange of views with Didier Reynders, Commissioner for Justice, in the framework of the structured dialogue. The Members will also vote on the report on Geographical indication protection for craft and industrial products and amending Regulations (EU) 2017/1001 and (EU) 2019/1753 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Council Decision (EU) 2019/1754 (2022/0115(COD)) and on the mandate to enter into interinstitutional negotiations.
The JURI Members will, moreover, hold an exchange of views on the priorities of the Swedish Presidency with Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer and consider the draft opinion and amendments to the opinion
