Member States have come under continuing external threats which pose serious risks for democratic societies. As part of the EU toolbox to counter these attacks, the European Parliament set up a Special Committee on Foreign Interference in all Democratic Processes in the European Union, including Disinformation (INGE), says its Chair, Raphaël Glucksmann, in the opening article of the latest Monthly Highlights issue. New rules have to be set and national legislations must be harmonised, he adds.

Other issues featured in this issue include the impact of teleworking on workers and society, education and youth in post-COVID Europe, interinstitutional relations in the treatment of petitions, and EU trust funds. Forthcoming publications and events are announced.
