On the 26th of October, the ITRE Committee held a public hearing on the “Data Act: creating growth and innovation”. The aim of this hearing was to engage in an open debate with relevant stakeholders on the key provisions of the Data Act, which was proposed by the Commission on the 23 February 2022.

During the ITRE Committee meeting which took place on the 26th of October, Members debated on energy and digital matters with the Commission. First, they exchanged views with Margrethe Vestager, Executive Vice-President for A Europe Fit for the Digital Age, on issues concerning state aid in the energy sector as well as on recently adopted legislative proposals on the Cyber Resilience Act and the Single Market Emergency Instrument.
