The development of new tax practices:what new schemes should the EU pay attention to?
On 22 June, the FISC Subcommittee held a public hearing on “The development of new tax practices: what new schemes should the EU pay attention to?” from 13:45 to 16:15. The discussion comes in anticipation of the first information exchanges under DAC 6 as well as the evolving situation in terms of tax avoidance practices and schemes.
The hearing presents a constructive opportunity for the FISC Subcommittee to hear institutional, academic, and practitioner perspectives on this elaborate and timely subject. Firstly, institutional contributions will be provided by Paul Hondius (OECD) and Ioanna Mitroyanni and Henrik Paulander (European Commission).
In a second panel, Isabel Verlinden, senior tax practitioner, and Prof. Rita de la Feria will delve into this topic from their respective viewpoints. Members will then have opportunity to inquire as to how best tackle such schemes and practices.
