Results of consultation and next steps

The results of the consultation will help the European Parliament to map the experiences of individuals, industries, consumers, civil society organisations and public administrations, and their expectations with regard to their relations with EU administration.

It will also help to define potential next steps and future policies at EU level, including, if appropriate, possible revision of existing horizontal and/or sector-specific EU legislation, or the introduction of new legislation. They will also feed into the forthcoming European Parliamentary Research Service's Impact Assessment Study on the potential impacts of the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council for an open, efficient and independent European administration.

This public consultation does not prejudge any future decision on whether or not to propose legislation in this field and any new initiative will be subject to a more in-depth consultation process and political validation.
