Welcome to the website of the European Parliament's TAX3 Committee!

Following continued revelations in the last 5 years (Luxleaks, the Panama Papers, Football leaks and the Paradise papers), the European Parliament decided to establish a Special Committee on Financial Crimes, Tax Evasion and Tax Avoidance (TAX3), on 1 March 2018.

Tax justice and fair tax competition are essential not only in the European Single Market but also at global level. In the last few years, the European Parliament has been very vocal and influential in this area. I aspire for the TAX3 Committee to build on the work of its predecessors (the TAXE, TAX2 and PANA Committees) and start investigating new issues, such as digital taxation, national citizenship programmes and VAT fraud. At the end of the parliamentary legislature, our Committee should send clear and strong messages to our citizens and businesses to show that the European Parliament matters and is key in the fight against tax crimes, tax evasion and tax avoidance.

During its twelve-month mandate, the 45 full members and the 45 substitute members of the Committee will have the opportunity to examine and assess whether further progress has been made in this area.

We will organise hearings with experts and fact-finding missions, invite witnesses, request and scrutinise confidential information. At the end of the twelve-month period, we will submit a report with our findings and recommendations.

I therefore invite you to follow closely our Committee work through this site where you will find meeting documents, webstreaming links and our regular newsletter.

I wish you a pleasant visit on our website.
