Committee on Budgets

The Committee on Budgets will consider the draft report prepared by Nicolae Ștefănuță (Greens) on the Commission proposal for a decision to mobilise the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers (EGF).

The Committee on Budgets (BUDG) will debate the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers (EGF), proposed by the Commission with the view to support 400 displaced workers in the automotive ancillary industry in the Spanish region of Galicia. The discussion will take place on September 10

The Committee on Budgets (BUDG) will discuss mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers (EGF) with the view to support workers displaced as a result of the Cora hypermarket chain closure in Wallonia, Belgium. The discussion will take place on 10 September.

The Committee on Budgets will vote on the budgetary assessment of the proposal establishing the 2028-2034 Global Europe instrument on 10 September.

The Committee on Budgets (BUDG) and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) will hold a joint exchange of views with Nathalie Berger, Director within DG for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), to discuss the InvestEU Programme and the work of its Steering Board. The discussion will take place on 2 September.

The Council’s position on the 2027 Draft Budget was adopted by COREPER on 15 July 2026 and will be submitted for formal approval in September. Compared to the Commission’s Draft Budget 2027, the Council suggests cuts of EUR 1,003.2 million in commitments and EUR 501.8 million in payments for the MFF Headings.
