EIB President presented the new development branch

The President of the European Investment Bank, Dr Werner Hoyer, presented the new development branch of the bank in a joint session of the AFET, DEVE and BUDG committees on 26 January.
The new branch was set up following Council conclusions from June 2021 and went into operation on 1 January 2022. Its aim will be to reorganise its activities outside the European Union and develop more targeted strategies and services contributing to reducing poverty and inequality, and improving lives around the world.
