FISC mission to Abu Dhabi and Dubai

Members of the FISC Subcommittee travelled to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, from 26 to 28 May 2025 in order to discuss developments in the area of international taxation and the fight against tax avoidance and evasion.
Led by FISC Chair Mr Tridico, the delegation met with Mr Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Mr Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council; Mr Abdullah Ahmed Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy; Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuami, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee and other Members of the Federal National Council. The delegation also held meetings with the AML/CFT Office; the Federal Tax Authority and the UAE Federal and Dubai Customs, alongside other key stakeholders.
This mission advanced the EP's objectives by fostering direct engagement with key authorities on critical issues. The discussions highlighted the UAE's significant progress in AML/CFT reforms and its proactive approach to tax transparency and corporate taxation. While the mission acknowledged the UAE's commitment to these areas, it also underscored persistent challenges in uniform enforcement.
