On Tuesday 28 February 2023, after the exchange of views on "Setting Global Standards to Protect the Integrity of Information", the ING2 special committee will continue the meeting with the hearing on “Climate change disinformation - International disinformation impact on the EU’s climate goals”.

Are these linked to a wider promotion of conspiracy theories affecting several areas, or are these individual campaigns aimed at sowing doubt among the public on the specific topic of climate change? And what is the role of online platforms? Should they remain neutral or block the placement of advertising promoting climate denialism? Who stands to benefit from climate change disinformation and who are the victims?

ING2 invited 3 renowned experts to debate and learn more about these and other issues. The hearing will be held in association with the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) and the European Parliament's Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (STOA).
