The next INTA Committee meeting is scheduled to take place on 27 January 2021 13:45-15:45 and 28 January 2021 9:00-12:00 and 13:45-15:45. The meeting will take place in Brussels and with remote participation. The meeting will be web-streamed.
In the context of the exponential growth of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the President of the European Parliament has announced a number of measures to contain the spread of epidemic and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities. Core activities are reduced, but maintained to ensure that the institution's legislative, budgetary, scrutiny functions are maintained.
The meetings will be with remote participation for Members (being able to view and listen to proceedings, and intervene in the meeting).
Other participants are invited to follow the meeting through webstreaming.
Augusto Santos Silva, Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, will exchange views with INTA Members about the priorities of the Portuguese presidency in the area of international trade policy. Portugal took over the rotating 6-months Council presidency on 1 January 2021.
On 11 January from 16:45h to 18:45h the International Trade Committee (INTA) will hold an in-depth debate on the trade aspects of the EU-UK trade and cooperation agreement. Later this week, on 14 January (10:00-12:00h), a joint AFET-INTA meeting will take place,
