Committee on Industry, Research and Energy

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 6 May, the ITRE Co-Rapporteurs for the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF) proposal, Mr Christian Ehler and Mr Dan Nica, presented their draft report. This was followed by remarks from ITRE Shadows on the ECF proposal, as well as from the Rapporteurs of opinion-giving Committees.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 6 May, the ITRE Rapporteurs on the two proposals that form the European Grids Package, Ms Tsvetelina Penkova and Mr Niels Fuglsang, presented their draft reports. This was followed by remarks from ITRE Shadows on the two proposals, as well as from the Rapporteurs of opinion-giving Committees.

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 20 April, ITRE members engaged in a debate with Mr Andrius Kubilius, Commissioner for Defence and Space, within the framework of the Committee's structured dialogue with the European Commission.

On 16 April 2026, the ITRE Committee hosted the Energy Community Parliamentary Plenum, bringing together ITRE Members and parliamentarians from Energy Community Contracting Parties (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine).

At the ITRE Committee meeting of 15 April, ITRE Members had a topical debate on advanced manufacturing, in the presence of European Commission representatives.
