Highlights
The ITRE rapporteur for the Cybersecurity act 2 Regulation and the amendments to the NIS2 Directive, Ms Marketa GREGOROVA (Greens), will present her draft reports on 8 October. The Cybersecurity Act 2 and the NIS2 revision package aim to reduce regulatory fragmentation, secure digital supply chains and establish uniform, high-level cybersecurity standards across the EU.
The INTA-ITRE-IMCO co-rapporteurs for the Industrial Accelerator Act presented their joint draft report on 28 September. The industrial Accelerator Act aims to strengthen EU competitiveness and industrial resilience in light of global pressures.
On 10 September, the Committee of Industry, Energy and Research held an exchange of views with the Director-designate of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), Mr Christof Lessenich. Before the appointment, the candidate selected by ACER Administrative Board must appear before the competent committee of the European Parliament to make a statement and answer questions from its Members.
The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy held a debate with Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva, responsible for startups, research and innovation, on the upcoming European Innovation Act.
The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy adopted its report on revised TEN-E Regulation on 10 September.
