A delegation of five IMCO Members led by the Committee Chair, Ms Anna Cavazzini (Greens/EFA) will visit Helsinki and Tallinn from 20 to 22 February 2023. The purpose of the visit is to find out more about the two Member States’ globally recognised policies promoting the circular economy and e-government.

The findings should assist the committee in its consideration of a number of proposals which form part of the Circular Economy Package, as well as its report on empowering consumers for the green transition (Rapp. Biljana BORZAN (S&D). It is also of particular relevance to IMCO's own-initiative report on e-government accelerating digital public services that support the functioning of the single market (Rapp. Tomislav SOKOL (EPP)), as well as other proposals concerning data and e-governance in the single market.

The delegation is expected to meet the Prime Minister of Estonia, the Chair of the Environment Committee of the Parliament of Finland, government officials, as well as enterprises and consultants in the two fields.
