Partial renewal of the European Court of Auditors – EL & FR Nominees

On 5 November 2025, the Budgetary Control Committee held a hearing and voted on the nominations of Mr Nikolaos Milionis as the Greek Member, and Mr Pierre Moscovici as the French Member of the European Court of Auditors (ECA).
Following the nominations made by the Governments of Greece and France, the Budgetary Control Committee extended invitations to the nominees to attend a hearing. During the hearing, CONT Members posed questions and evaluated their credentials in their capacity as nominees to the ECA, in particular in view of the requirements laid down in Article 286(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. CONT will give an opinion for the appointment of the candidates in the form of a recommendation to the Plenary. Appointment of the Members of the European Court of Auditors is defined in the Rules of Procedures of the European Parliament under Rule 129.
