On 23rd of January PEGA committee held a hearing on 'Use of Spyware by private actors'. The hearing brought together Members of the European Parliament and several experts.

On January 19th, at the PEGA committee meeting, Richard Youngs, Senior Fellow at Carnegie Europe & Professor of International Relations, University of Warwick presented the study "Pegasus and the EU’s external relations", co-written by Steven Feldstein, Senior Fellow at Carnegie Europe.

On 9 January at the PEGA committee meeting Prof. Dr Giovanni Sartor presented the study on "The impact of the use of Pegasus and similar spyware in the EU or targeting EU citizens, on Article 2 TEU values, privacy and data protection and on democratic processes in the Member States".
