New York: MEPs at the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women
From 8 to 12 March 2026, a delegation of the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee attended the 70th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York, USA.
The 70th UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York focused this year on ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls. The delegation led by the Chair Lina Gálvez met UN Secretary General António Guterres and high-level representatives of UN agencies and bodies working on women's rights and equality. Members as well participated in several side events and met delegates from other countries, as well as the Chair and Vice-Chairs of the CSW Bureau. Ahead of the delegation, Parliament adopted its Recommendation to the Council on the EU priorities for the 70th UN CSW session.
