On 9 September, FISC held a hearing on "Tax Transparency". In an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving global tax landscape, tax transparency has gained importance and come to occupy an important place in the agenda of international institutions such as the European Union (EU), the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), the G20 and the United Nations. Ongoing discussions have resulted in the definition of a number of standards, best practices and legislation.

Ms. Dalia Grybauskaité (Co-Chair of the High Level Panel on International Financial Accountability, Transparency and Integrity (FACTI)), Mr. Eelco van der Enden (Member of the Board of Directors at Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Chairman of the Tax Policy Group of Accountancy Europe), Mr. Alan McLean (Executive Vice President, Taxation and Controller, Shell) and Mr. Michael Jaeger (General Secretary of Taxpayers Association of Europe) are invited to present their views on ways to enhance tax transparency in the context of the European and international tax agenda. The hearing will be an opportunity for FISC Members to follow-up on various initiatives and look at the prospects in this area.
