On Tuesday 24 January, the ENVI and AGRI Committees, in association with the Committee on Petitions held a public hearing on the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) "Save bees and farmers! Towards a bee-friendly agriculture for a healthy environment"

The initiative result was officially submitted to the European Commission after having gathered the support of over 1 million signatures with the minimum threshold reached in 11 Member States. The Initiative calls on the Commission to propose legal acts to phase-out synthetic pesticides by 2035, restore biodiversity, and support farmers in the transition. The ECI organisers will be invited to present the initiative's objectives and engage with Members and the European Commission's representatives.
