The Draghi report: competitiveness and economic security from a trade angle
On Tuesday, 3 December 2024, between 14:30 and 16:30, INTA will organise a public hearing on “The Draghi report: competitiveness and economic security from a trade angle”. Speakers from the academia and representing workers and industry organisations will weigh in on how EU trade policy should contribute to the objectives set out in the Draghi report.
The public hearing will be structured in two panels. The first panel will focus on "Increasing security and reducing dependencies" whilst the second panel will address "trade for sustainable competitiveness".
Members in the INTA committee consider that European competitiveness and economic security will be central themes in this legislature. INTA, as the committee responsible, among others, for financial, economic and trade relations with third countries, the common external tariffs, FDI and outbound investments flows, has a key role to play in shaping policies that are conducive to European competitiveness and economic security. The report sets out key principles for trade policy in a European industrial strategy.
