The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development will vote on the own-initiative report on the future of agriculture and the post-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), during an extraordinary meeting on 7 July, in Strasbourg.

The report points out that the post-2027 CAP should be geared towards a more competitive and resilient model, and should have a clear water perspective, together with a path to competitive and sustainable agriculture. The post-2027 CAP should have a larger budget to protect farmers from rising production costs, a strategy for more efficient management and openness to innovation, research and generational renewal.
