Trade Committee delegation to visit the Philippines
From 16 to 18 February 2026, MEPs will travel to the Philippines to discuss political and trade relations as well as regional integration.
A delegation of six Members of INTA, accompanied by the DASE Chair, will travel to the Philippines from 16 to 18 February 2026 to discuss political, economic, trade and investment relations between the EU and the host country.
The mission aims to build upon the recent very good progress in negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement between the EU and the ASEAN country and demonstrate the Parliament's commitment to supporting the conclusion of a comprehensive agreement by the end of the year. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to address the EU's trade and economic relations with the Indo-Pacific region, as well as more global issues, such as the current endeavours to reform the World Trade Organisation.
The delegation, led by the INTA Chair, Bernd Lange (S&D, DE), will engage with representatives of the government of the Philippines at the highest level, as well as with Members of Parliament and other relevant partners and stakeholders.
