Vote on vehicle registration

On 8 April, the TRAN Committee will vote on a report by Mr Danielsson (S&D, Sweden) on the Commission proposal to update rules for vehicle registration documents and data storage and exchange between Member States, which forms part of the “roadworthiness package”.
The compromise text agreed ahead of the vote foresees certain adjustments to ensure that the transition to digital certificates does not disadvantage persons with limited digital access and skills. Further changes concern provisions on data recorded in vehicle registers and their exchange between Member States, the improvement of vehicle holders' rights and the alignment with related pieces of legislation.
