The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Volker Türk, will address for the first time Members of DROI and LIBE during a joint meeting organised on Thursday 20 July. The meeting provides a timely opportunity to address human rights achievements and global challenges on the matter.

DROI, in cooperation with the Legislative Dialogue Unit of the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments, will hold a hybrid interparliamentary committee meeting with national parliaments on the topic ‘Coordination between EU delegations and EU Member State embassies on human rights in third countries’.

On 19 July (10:30-12:30; room ANTALL 4Q1) DROI will hold a public hearing "The human rights impact of sourcing critical raw materials (sub-issue on Orinoco Mining Arc)". The hearing will be held in association with the Committee on Development.
