EMPL meeting 1 February 2021
The EMPL Committee voted on the draft opinion regarding the Decision on the conclusion of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the EU and the European Atomic Energy Community, and the UK. The opinion as amended was adopted with 45 votes in favour, 8 against and 1 abstention. Commissioner Schmit presented the 2021 Commission work programme.
EMPL Members held the yearly exchange of views with the executive directors of the agencies under the EMPL remit: Cedefop, Eurofound, EU-OSHA, ETF and ELA.
The draft agenda also included the consideration of the amendments tabled to the draft opinions on "Shaping the digital future of Europe" and "Fishers for the future", and the presentation of the studies on "Social impact investment" and "After parental leave: Effective incentives for parents with young children".
