Exchange with EMA, ECDC and WHO on COVID variants - HERA Incubator presentation

On 15 March the ENVI Committee had an exchange of views with EMA, ECDC and WHO on COVID variants and the vaccines' efficacy against them. In the same meeting, the Commission presented the HERA Incubator communication to the ENVI Committee members.
The HERA Incubator is a bio-defence preparedness plan that will be established and operated by the Commission to access and mobilise all means and resources necessary, inter alia to prevent, mitigate and respond to the potential impact of variants. HERA will work with the ECDC to ensure sufficient sequencing capacity in Member States.
