Next FISC Subcommittee meeting
From 26 to 28 May, a delegation of Members of the FISC Subcommittee will travel on a mission to Brazil.
The next FISC meeting will take place on Tuesday 2 June, from 14.30 to 16.45.
The agenda will include:
- a public hearing on "Combating VAT Fraud: Evaluating the Impact and Future of the Reverse Charge Mechanism";
- the consideration of amendments to the draft report on "Feasibility of a 28th tax regime and its potential to support EU competitiveness" (Rapporteur: Ľudovít Ódor, Renew);
- the consideration the draft report on "The EU's approach to corporate tax policy in a changing international environment".
The meeting will be followed by a Coordinators' meeting (in camera) from 16.45 to 18.00.

On Thursday, 16 April 2026, the Policy Department for Economy and Growth will host a workshop with FISC Members to present a study on “Excises on Tobacco products in the EU. Impact on the internal market of the minimum rates of excise duty and the wide availability of alternative tobacco products currently not covered by Council Directive 2011/64/EU on the structure and rates of excise duty applied to manufactured tobacco.”
On Thursday 16 April 2026, the FISC Subcommittee will discuss the draft report on the "feasibility of a 28th tax regime and its potential to support EU competitiveness", which will be presented by the rapporteur L'udovít Ódor (Renew).
On Tuesday 16 April 2026, the FISC Subcommittee will discuss the amendments tabled to the draft report on a coherent tax framework for the EU's financial sector. The draft, which will was prepared by the rapporteur Matthias Ecke (S&D), addresses the fragmentation of the financial sector in the EU and calls for a fair contribution of the sector.
